Hot Star Large Fried Chicken Footscray

Hot Star is a Taiwanese fried chicken chain whose Melbourne stores sell an oversized crispy chicken cutlet made from whole chicken breast, coated with a recipe the company traces to Shilin night market in Taipei. Alongside the large chicken the store fries wings, chicken pop, chicken ribs, squid, king oyster mushroom, chicken skin and sweet potato, each finished with a choice of seasonings such as salt and pepper, plum, cajun, chilli, cheese or seaweed. The Footscray shop is on Leeds Street beside Footscray station and opens an hour earlier on Saturdays.
