Hot Star Large Fried Chicken Elizabeth Street

Hot Star is a Taiwanese fried chicken chain whose Melbourne stores sell an oversized crispy chicken cutlet made from whole chicken breast and coated with a recipe the company traces to Shilin night market in Taipei. The Elizabeth Street shop is one of three Hot Star outlets in the Melbourne CBD and trades until 1am seven days. Alongside the large chicken it fries wings, chicken pop, squid, king oyster mushroom, chicken skin and sweet potato, each finished with a choice of seasonings such as salt and pepper, plum, seaweed or cajun.
