Pho Bat Dan

Pho Bat Dan is the Melbourne outpost of Pho Gia Truyen, the Hanoi pho shop at 49 Bat Dan Street in the Old Quarter, and is run by Nguyen Lam and Duyen Le Ky, the couple behind Pho Thin Melbourne. It serves Hanoi-style beef pho with a clear broth simmered overnight from beef bones, brisket and ginger, alongside chicken pho, a vegetarian pho, bun bo hue and fried Hanoi-style seafood spring rolls, with quay (fried dough sticks) offered for dipping. The restaurant's own Instagram recommends the free-range chicken pho to first-time visitors.
